FURNITURE PROCUREMENT FOR ST. ANGELA SCHOOL
St Angela's school was born out of the need to provide education to kids infected with HIV in a non-stigmatized environment. Initially, kids residing in this facility were sent to public schools. However, lack of awareness coupled with irrational fear, prompted parents of other healthy children to protest against the presence of HIV infected children interacting with their kids. So dire was the scenario, that the Sisters of DSS had to undertake an additional project of building a school that catered to just kids infected with HIV. However, due to insufficient funds , the school had to make do with sub-par furniture. Viewing the situation we decided to fund this projects on the following basis:
- All documents are available for review thus ensuring compliance to audits
- A nutritious and balanced diet is provided to the kids
- Received recognition by the Indian government for outstanding work
